Protective Film Rolls Company is a manufacturer of protective film for acrylic pmma pc, produced for acrylic sheet, PMMA sheet, PC sheet, plexiglass and polycarbonate sheet used in cutting, routing, drilling, bending, stacking and shipment. This PE / LDPE / LLDPE self adhesive film is typically supplied in 50-100 um thickness and helps reduce scratches, dust marks, pressure dents and handling scuffs while allowing stable peel removal with low visible residue on clean plastic sheet surfaces.

Product Overview

This film is made for plastic sheet fabrication and transport protection, not for mobile screen protectors, retail DIY rolls or general packaging film. Clear acrylic, PMMA and plexiglass panels can be marked during CNC routing, sawing, drilling, laser cutting, polishing and bending. PC and polycarbonate sheets also need temporary masking during trimming, printing, forming trials, stacking and delivery. Chips, dust, clamp lines and sheet-to-sheet friction can leave visible marks on transparent or high-gloss surfaces.

The structure combines flexible PE / LDPE / LLDPE backing with water-based acrylic adhesive or a low-residue acrylic adhesive layer. Low tack grades are used on glossy acrylic, polished PMMA and smooth plexiglass where easy removal is important. Medium tack grades give better holding force when sheets are handled repeatedly, drilled, sawed, routed or packed for shipment. Peel adhesion is usually adjusted within about 20-180 g/25mm.

Before lamination, the sheet surface should be clean, dry and free from oil, loose dust and cutting chips. Trapped particles may create pressure points after stacking. Film flatness, neat slit edges and stable roll winding help wide sheets apply smoothly across 300-1550 mm roll widths. Typical slitting tolerance is around +/-1 mm, and 24-72 hour residue observation is recommended before bulk lamination.

Benefits

– Helps protect acrylic sheet, PMMA sheet and plexiglass from light scratches during fabrication.

– Reduces dust contact, chip friction and stacking marks on PC sheet and polycarbonate sheet.

– Low-residue acrylic adhesive supports clean removal after storage, processing or shipment.

– Flexible PE / LDPE / LLDPE backing helps the film stay flat on wide plastic sheets.

– Transparent, blue, white and black-white colors support inspection, identification or light blocking.

– Neat slit edges help control lifting near routed edges, drilled holes and saw-cut areas.

– Typical tensile strength of 18-28 MPa and elongation of 250-450% support roll handling.

When should low tack or medium tack film be selected for PMMA and PC sheets?

Low tack film is practical for glossy PMMA sheet, polished acrylic sheet and smooth plexiglass when the surface must stay clear after peeling. Medium tack film is better when panels will be handled repeatedly, routed, drilled, sawed or shipped over a longer distance, because it gives stronger edge hold around cut lines and holes. For coated PC sheet, frosted acrylic, printed plastic panels or thermoforming trials, sample testing should be done before mass lamination.

How does protective film perform during CNC routing, laser cutting, sawing and thermoforming?

During routing and sawing, the film works as a temporary barrier against chips, dust and sliding friction on acrylic, PMMA and PC sheet surfaces. Around drilled holes and cut edges, slit quality and adhesive balance are important because rough film edges can lift during processing. For laser cutting, hot bending or thermoforming, the film should not be treated as universally heat-resistant. A short 40-60 C reference observation can help screen basic heat behavior, but real forming temperature, dwell time and sheet stress should be checked with production samples.

FAQ

Is this film suitable for both acrylic and polycarbonate sheets?

Yes. It is designed for acrylic, PMMA, plexiglass, PC and polycarbonate sheet surfaces.

Will the film leave adhesive residue after removal?

The adhesive is low-residue, but 24-72 hour sample testing on the actual sheet is recommended.

Can the film be used during CNC cutting or drilling?

Yes. It helps reduce dust, chip scratches and handling marks when applied to a clean surface.

Can the film be used for thermoforming or hot bending?

Only after testing. Heat behavior depends on film grade, temperature, forming time and sheet type.
